Located in San Francisco Chinatown, Now Place is a bookstore, RISO print studio, publishing project and art community hub for Asian diasporic, queer, and emerging voices. We hold space for the in-between — between languages, identities, disciplines, and belonging.
More than a store, we are a place for gathering: for workshops, readings, panels, pop-ups, and afternoons with a cup of tea and a pile of zines.
Come visit. Stay a while.
Build something with us.
🌱 Our space is open in SF Chinatown
We’ve reopned our doors in 2025 fall — with a new home built for stories, creative care, and collective dreaming.
Come visit us at 679 Clay St. San Francisco.
A home for independent publishing, shared dreams, and unfinished thoughts.
🌱 Volunteer with Now Place
Now Place ć¤é—´ is a small artist-run bookstore, publisher, and community space in San Francisco’s Chinatown.
We run on many kinds of care — the kind that welcomes a stranger, rearranges a shelf, wipes a table, designs a poster, or helps an artist set up for their first show.
Volunteers are part of this living ecosystem.
By spending time in the shop, helping at events, or lending your creative skills, you become part of the gentle rhythm that keeps Now Place alive — a rhythm built on curiosity, kindness, and collaboration.
