Now Place 此间 is a community and independent publisher empowers emerging artists from the Asian diaspora. As a creative community and gathering space for artists, designers, and those attuned to life’s subtleties, we foster artistic collaboration across art, design, publishing, and products, all within a reimagined retail and gallery experience.

 

The spirit of Now Place draws from the mythical creature, yàyú (窫窳) — not a hero, but something far more nuanced. The yàyú’s ambiguous form, two threads, imperfect and misshapen, stretch out as alternatives to rigid, conventional measures, challenging the need to fit within predefined norms.

 

Inspired by yàyú’s spirit, Now Place is a living experiment, suspended between commerce and creativity, retail and art, where artists and creators from the Asian diaspora can meet, share, and play.
